Available Frequencies - A higher number is better as there is greater chance that an 'empty' frequency can be found so reducing interference from radio stations.. Stored Frequencies - Radio stations move in and out of range when driving. Stored frequency memory locations are useful as they allow you to quickly move to your preset frequency to avoid interference. 3.5mm Stereo Connectors - The MP3-Europe, AudiaX and eMana FM transmitter receive their music input through a standard 3.5mm earphone socket. FM Transmitters with these connectors are compatible with all MP3 players (including iPods, Creatives, Sony Walkmans, iRivers etc.). The iTrip and Airplay FM Transmitters do not have this compatibility typically and will only work on particular iPod models. Play from USB Pen Drive - This is a unique feature of the eMana USB FM transmitter that allows you to plug in a USB pen drive loaded and play MP3 tunes... what a great idea! LCD Screen: - LCD screens are used to show the selected frequency. Automatic Off - To help conserve batteries, our FM Transmitters switch off when they do not receive a signal. Battery Power Option: - The MP3-Europe, AudiaX and eMana FM Transmitters can work from batteries (typically AAA) or a separate car power supply. The iTrip and Airplay FM transmitter draw their power directly from the MP3 player so do not require batteries, whilst this makes them more convenient, the battery powered Transmitters tend to have superior transmission range. Battery Included: - A battery is included in the standard package in the AudiaX DGT-202. Car Power Supply Included: - Car power supplies that fit into the cigarrette lighter socket can be used to power the MP3-Europe, AudiaX and eMana FM Transmitters. FM Transmitters with this option tend to be more powerful than the iTrip and Airplay, which take their power directly from the iPod. Size (mm): width x length x thickness Weight (g): weight includes battery Range (1=low, 5=high): This is a relative assessment of transmission range performed by our technical team. 5 items of each FM Transmitter type were tested at increasing range from a radio receiver. Tests were performed with and without direct line of sight. Scores of 3 and above were deemed to perform acceptably. Sound Quality (1=low, 5=high): This was a fixed range (2metres) relative assessment of sound quality. High and low frequencies were tested along with distortion at higher volumes. Scores of 3 and above were deemed to perform acceptably. Compatibility: FM Transmitters that receive their sound input through a 3.5mm earphone socket are compatible with all MP3 players. The iTrip and Airplay FM Transmitters are only compatible with specific iPod models. |
